On the label01
What is niacin 7.5 mg NE in HoneyPezil?
Niacin is vitamin B3, and HoneyPezil lists it first at 7.5 mg NE per capsule, with a printed Daily Value of 47%.
NE means niacin equivalents, a unit that lets different forms of vitamin B3 be counted on one scale. The Daily Value is 16 mg, and 7.5 divided by 16 is about 47% (NIH ODS, Niacin). It is an ordinary nutrient at a small amount.
The label does not say whether the niacin is nicotinic acid or niacinamide. Everything about flushing below depends on that missing word.
| Name on the label | Niacin |
|---|---|
| What it is | Vitamin B3. The label does not say which form it is (nicotinic acid or niacinamide) |
| Place on the label | 1 of 7 lines, in label order |
| Amount per 1-capsule serving | 7.5 mg niacin equivalents (NE) per capsule |
| Daily Value | 47% (printed) |
| Amount used in research | Adult RDA for men 16 mg NE; upper limit from supplements 35 mg a day; flushing is described at 30 to 50 mg or more of nicotinic acid |
| How the label compares | 7.5 mg is about 47% of the 16 mg RDA and about 21% of the 35 mg upper limit; it is at least 4 times below the flushing range, but the form is not printed |
| Strength of evidence | Established nutrient. The one memory link found is observational: niacin from food went with slower decline in older adults. No trial of 7.5 mg for memory was found |
| Marketed or traditional use | Sold as 'brain energy' support (the sales page names NAD+) |
| Main caution | High doses of nicotinic acid can cause flushing and can raise blood sugar. Isoniazid and pyrazinamide (tuberculosis medicines) interact with niacin. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you take either. |
Flushing02
Will HoneyPezil cause a niacin flush?
Probably not at 7.5 mg, but the label does not let us promise it. The NIH says flushing is typically caused by 30 to 50 mg or more of nicotinic acid, and that nicotinamide does not flush (NIH ODS, Niacin).
If the form is nicotinic acid, 7.5 mg is at least 4 times below the flushing range. If it is niacinamide, flushing is not expected. Since we cannot tell which, we do not write "no flush". A flush is warmth, redness and tingling of the skin, and it usually passes.
Niacin: label next to the reference amounts
The label does not say which form of niacin it uses, so the flushing row only applies if it is nicotinic acid. (NIH ODS, Niacin)
Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you take isoniazid or pyrazinamide, because the NIH lists both as interacting with niacin (NIH ODS, Niacin).
The research03
Does niacin help memory?
No trial shows that 7.5 mg of niacin in a capsule helps memory. The one link we found is about niacin from food.
A study of 3,718 adults aged 65 and older in a Chicago community tracked what they ate for a median of 5.5 years. Higher niacin from food went with a slower yearly decline on four thinking tests (Morris 2004, Dietary niacin and cognitive decline). That is an association. It does not show that a capsule does the same.
The seller's sales page also mentions NAD+. We found no source tying any HoneyPezil line to it, so we do not repeat the claim.
Cochrane's pooled trials of vitamin and mineral supplements found no clear help for thinking skills, though niacin was not among them (Cochrane 2018, Vitamin and mineral supplements and thinking skills). NIA recommends no supplement for preventing cognitive decline (NIA, Cognitive health and older adults).

How much niacin is too much?
The upper limit from supplements is 35 mg a day for adults. One HoneyPezil capsule holds about 21% of it.
| Reference | Amount | Label (7.5 mg NE) is |
|---|---|---|
| RDA, men | 16 mg NE | about 47% |
| RDA, women | 14 mg NE | about 54% |
| Upper limit from supplements | 35 mg | about 21% |
Your food and other supplements also count toward the limit. If you take other B vitamins, add the niacin on those labels first.
Before you decide05
Should you check the niacin form with the seller?
Yes, if flushing would worry you. Call the order desk and ask which form of niacin is in your bottle.
The label says to ask a physician first if you are pregnant, nursing, under 18 or have a known condition. Keep taking prescribed medicine exactly as directed. Lasting memory trouble deserves a doctor: see when to see one. Compare your bottle with the supplement facts page, and read about the next line, calcium.
FAQ06
HoneyPezil questions people ask
What does NE mean on the HoneyPezil label?
NE stands for niacin equivalents, a unit that puts different forms of vitamin B3 on one scale. HoneyPezil prints 7.5 mg NE, which the label lists as 47% of the Daily Value.
Is 7.5 mg of niacin a lot?
No. It is about 47% of the 16 mg Daily Value and about 21% of the 35 mg upper limit for supplements. That is a modest amount, though your food and other supplements add to it.
Does HoneyPezil contain niacinamide or nicotinic acid?
The label does not say. That matters because the NIH describes flushing with nicotinic acid, not nicotinamide. Call the order desk to ask which form your bottle holds.
What does a niacin flush feel like?
A niacin flush is warmth, redness and sometimes tingling of the skin. The NIH links it to 30 to 50 mg or more of nicotinic acid. It usually passes, but ask a doctor if it troubles you.
Can niacin interact with medicines?
Yes. The NIH lists isoniazid and pyrazinamide, both tuberculosis medicines. Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking niacin with either, and never stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Is vitamin B3 the same as niacin?
Yes. Vitamin B3 is the group name, and niacin is the best-known member. Nicotinic acid and niacinamide are two forms, which is why the missing form on this label matters.
