The short answer01
Do brain supplements work?
The evidence does not show that brain supplements work, and the leading health bodies do not recommend one.
The National Institute on Aging says that at this time no vitamin or supplement is recommended for preventing cognitive decline (NIA, Cognitive health and older adults). The Global Council on Brain Health "could not endorse any ingredient, product or supplement formulation designed for brain health" and urges skepticism toward claims on packages and in ads (Global Council on Brain Health, Brain health supplements).
That is not the same as proving that no supplement could ever help. It means the studies so far have not shown it, and the bodies that review them do not advise buying one.
What each says02
What do NCCIH and Cochrane say about vitamins for thinking skills?
NCCIH finds no conclusive evidence for ginkgo, limited and inconsistent evidence for curcumin, and no help from short-term B6, B12 and folic acid in adults 50 and older (NCCIH, Supplements and cognitive function).
Cochrane pooled eight randomized trials of vitamin and mineral supplements. It could not identify any supplement that slows decline in people with mild cognitive impairment, and five B-vitamin trials with 879 people found no clear difference in memory or thinking skills (Cochrane 2018, Vitamin and mineral supplements and thinking skills). Niacin was not covered.

Why can a memory problem be a reason to see a doctor instead?
A memory problem can have a treatable cause, and a supplement should never be the reason you wait to find out.
NCCIH says not to use complementary approaches as a reason to postpone seeing a provider about memory loss (NCCIH, 7 things to know about supplements and memory). Mayo Clinic lists treatable causes: certain medicines, untreated sleep apnea, an underactive thyroid, low B-12, stress, depression and alcohol use (Mayo Clinic, Memory loss: when to seek help). Tap a card below.
- MedicinesCertain medicines, or combinations of them, can cause forgetfulness or confusion. Do not stop one yourself; ask the prescriber or your pharmacist to review the whole list. (Mayo Clinic, Memory loss: when to seek help) (NIA, Cognitive health and older adults)
- SleepUntreated sleep apnea can affect memory, and treatment can help. Adults need 7 to 9 hours. Loud snoring with tiredness is worth mentioning. (Mayo Clinic, Memory loss: when to seek help) (Mayo Clinic, 7 memory tips)
- ThyroidAn underactive thyroid can cause forgetfulness and other thinking changes. A blood test finds it. (Mayo Clinic, Memory loss: when to seek help)
- Low vitamin B-12Low levels are common in older adults and can affect memory. A blood test finds it, and a doctor decides what to do. (Mayo Clinic, Memory loss: when to seek help)
- Stress, anxiety, low moodThese can make it harder to focus and recall. Talking it through and getting care for depression or anxiety can help. (Mayo Clinic, Memory loss: when to seek help)
- AlcoholHeavy or regular drinking can affect memory. Mayo lists alcohol use disorder among the treatable causes. (Mayo Clinic, Memory loss: when to seek help)

How should you read a brain supplement label, and where does HoneyPezil fit?
Read a brain supplement label for amounts, not slogans: check every ingredient has a printed amount, then ask if a study used that amount.
HoneyPezil passes the first test, with seven printed lines and no proprietary blend. It does not pass the second: its front line, "Advanced Memory Support*", leads to the FDA statement that it was not evaluated, and no study tested the formula.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before you start, mainly with nitrates, erection medicines, or blood pressure, diabetes or blood thinner medicine. Keep taking prescribed medicine as directed. For chest pain or sudden confusion, call 911.
