Are brain supplements a scam? Red flags and real evidence
Are brain supplements a scam? Many are legal products, not fraud, but their ads often promise more than studies show. The Global Council on Brain Health could not endorse any brain-health supplement, and the NIA recommends none. Check six red flags below, then compare any claim with the printed label amounts, such as HoneyPezil's seven lines.

Scam or not01
Are brain supplements a scam or just oversold?
Most brain supplements are legal products, so oversold is the more common problem than scam.
The FDA does not approve supplements before sale, and claims about body function are not pre-approved (FDA, Q&A on Dietary Supplements) (FDA, Structure/function claims). That lets a bottle carry a hopeful front line while the proof stays thin.
The Global Council on Brain Health says it could not endorse any ingredient, product or formulation designed for brain health, and advises skepticism about claims on packaging and in ads (Global Council on Brain Health, Brain health supplements). A true scam is different: fake reviews, fake sellers or a product that never arrives.
Red flags02
What are the red flags in a brain supplement ad?
The main red flags are disease-fix language, secret formulas, countdown timers, unnamed experts and reviews you cannot check.
Use the table as a quick filter. For HoneyPezil, the label prints every amount and makes no disease claim, and this site shows no verified reviews. The seller's own page goes further than the bottle, so we quote it and answer it.
| Red flag | Calmer check |
|---|---|
| Promises of a fix for memory loss | A supplement label may not claim to treat disease |
| "Proprietary blend" with no amounts | Look for every amount printed (HoneyPezil prints all seven) |
| Countdown clocks and "only 3 left" | Ignore urgency; read the terms |
| Doctor photos with no name | Ask who, and where the study is |
| Reviews with no way to verify | The FTC bans fake reviews (FTC, Reviews and Testimonials Rule Q&A) |
| No phone number or address | HoneyPezil lists a phone, email and address |
Evidence03
What does real evidence for a brain supplement look like?
Real evidence is a human trial of the same product at the same amount, with a comparison group and a named result.
The FTC expects health claims to rest on competent and reliable scientific evidence, which often means human testing (FTC, Health Products Compliance Guidance). Pooled trials of vitamin and mineral supplements found no clear help for thinking skills (Cochrane 2018, Vitamin and mineral supplements and thinking skills).
We found no trial of HoneyPezil or of its seven lines together. Single-ingredient studies used much larger amounts than one capsule holds. The bars below put label amounts next to reference amounts on a log scale.
7 linesone capsule a day, 30 a bottle; every amount printed, no proprietary blend
- L-arginine: base + AKG (at most)400 mg · ref 1,500
- L-citrulline: HCl + malate (at most)200 mg · ref 6,000
- Beta-alanine40 mg · ref 4,000
- Niacin7.5 mg · ref 16
- Calcium18 mg · ref 1,300

Log scale: each step to the right is ten times more. A marker far to the right of the bar means the label holds much less than that reference. How can you check a seller before you buy a brain supplement?
Check the seller by phone number, business name and the label on a bottle you can compare.
The Better Business Bureau's Scam Tracker lets you search by phone, website, email or business name (BBB, Scam Tracker). Call the order desk before you pay. For HoneyPezil that is +1 (507) 448-8190, and the live checkout is final on price.
This site lists no coupon, code or countdown. The only prices are the three pack prices on the sales page. Read the is it legit page and the guarantee page before you decide.
FAQ05
HoneyPezil questions people ask
How do I report a supplement ad I think is a scam?
You can report it to the Better Business Bureau Scam Tracker, and report a bad reaction to the FDA through MedWatch. Keep screenshots and your order ID.
Is a money-back guarantee proof a product works?
No. A guarantee is a business promise, not evidence. HoneyPezil's sales page states 60 days and asks for at least 30 days of use first; confirm terms at checkout.
Can fake reviews be legal?
No. The FTC rule on reviews and testimonials bars fake reviews. Treat any review you cannot match to a real order with caution.

Check your medicines first, especially nitrates, erection medicines and blood pressure medicine, then pick a pack. One bottle is 30 days at 1 capsule a day; 3 bottles cover 90 days and 6 cover 180. A supplement does not replace a doctor's visit for memory trouble that lasts.
